Be the Master of Your Mind!
Be the Master of your mind not the prisoner. I say that often in my sessions and classes, as well as to myself. I can go hours without uttering a word but my mind is talking 1000 miles a minute.
Have you ever found yourself thinking about something and you have no idea why you are thinking it? Maybe your subconscious mind is replaying an old memory. That’s fine when it’s a good thought, which in turn causes good emotions. But what if it is a negative thought that creates negative emotions? For example, you were expecting your significant other home hours ago. They haven’t called you and you are starting to panic. You have called their cell phone at least 10 times and they are not picking up. Soon, you start thinking they must have been in a car accident and died. You picture having to tell friends and family, you imagine how awful life will be without them, what the funeral will be like and so on. Then suddenly they walk through the door untouched. It turns out they lost their cell phone and were stuck in a bad traffic jam and they couldn’t reach you. You become either elated that they are home and safe or pissed as hell that they didn’t find another way to reach you!
Your mind does not know the difference between fact or fantasy. Your body and energy system may have just experienced a total melt down and it was all in your head. You created the emotions you were feeling with the thoughts you were thinking.
I truly do believe that thoughts create things and I have no doubt that by now, you have found this to be true in your life. The prisoner of the mind allows the idle negative chatter to go on. Worrying and being afraid of what might happen is a waste of time and energy. Where your mind goes, your energy flows (another saying I use often!). If you find your thoughts starting to wander off to mindless chatter, STOP IT! Choose the thoughts you want to think. Focus on what you want to create in your day and future and watch it unfold. Be the Master of your Mind!
